Turkey bombards Kurds as Baghdad, Erbil stay silent

Turkey continues its military attacks on the Kurdistan region, resulting in civilian victims, while both the Iraqi central government and the regional government of Kurdistan were silent.

Six people were killed in a recent Turkish drone and an artillery strike, which Ankara claims to target PKK militants. Critics claim that these attacks represent civilian murders and environmental destruction, but political and economic interests prevent Baghdad and Irbil to condemn Turkish actions.

Despite current military operations, Turkey has hinted at a new peace process with the Kurds, which many have seen as an attempt to control and suppress the Kurdish political aspirations.
